This Cayman came to us for one of the best reasons possible. The previous owner enjoyed it so much that he bought a newer Cayman S from us, which says a lot about both the car and the ownership experience. It feels like an enthusiast-owned example: properly kept, nicely specified, supported by a strong Porsche main dealer and specialist service portfolio, and clearly not a car that has lived a hard or neglected life.

The 987 Cayman has aged brilliantly. It still feels compact, low, direct and involving in a way many modern cars simply do not. You do not need huge power figures to enjoy one of these; the appeal is in the balance, the driving position, the mid-engined feel and the way the car makes an ordinary road feel interesting. It is a proper Porsche sports car, but still usable, comfortable and easy to live with.

What really lifts this example is the interior. It has extended leather across the dashboard and door cards, with leather also around the PDK gear selector area, giving the cabin a far more premium feel than many 987s. The leather-wrapped steering wheel, black perforated leather seats, BOSE sound system and heated seats all make it feel special without losing that simple, driver-focused Cayman layout. It feels timeless rather than dated.

The history is a very nice mix of Porsche main dealer and respected Porsche specialist maintenance. It began with Porsche main dealer servicing, followed later by specialists including Strasse, Powerstratt and Zeign Porsche. The 2025 major service is a particularly strong point, costing nearly £2,500 and including spark plugs, oil and filter, air filter, pollen filter, auxiliary belt, rear discs and pads, rear coil springs and exhaust clamps. We will also carry out a fresh service for the next owner including oil, inspection, wipers, pollen filter and air filter.

Condition-wise, this is exactly where we would want to be honest. It is a 15-year-old Porsche, so there are a few small marks and light signs of use here and there, but nothing that takes away from the car. There are no nasty surprises, no ripped or heavily worn interior, and overall it presents very nicely. It feels like a well-kept, enthusiast-owned Cayman rather than one that has been dressed up for sale.
