Priddys Motor Company are delighted to present this BMW M5 Competition xDrive, showing just 25,150 miles and finished in Donington Grey.
Why did we choose this M5? Very simply, because it had the things we care about most on a car like this: one owner from new, BMW main dealer history, the all-important running-in service, proper Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres all round, good discs and pads ( which tell the life story ), beautiful condition and the sort of tight, honest drive that tells you it has not had a hard life.
That matters on an M5 Competition. These cars are enormously capable, but you still want to know the example in front of you has been owned properly, not passed around, neglected or treated like a toy. This car has only ever had one owner, has only ever been maintained through BMW main dealer history before coming to us, and has come from a garaged, gated driveway environment. It feels like exactly the sort of car you hope to find when buying a serious performance saloon.
During our initial appraisal, there was nothing concerning to report. The car felt right, the condition backed it up, and the paperwork made sense. We have had to be very selective with M5s, because they are not cars you buy casually. This one gave us the confidence we look for: strong provenance, the right tyre choice, clean brakes, lovely interior condition and a drive that feels properly tight with no loose or tired feedback.
The M5 Competition is a remarkable car because it does two very different jobs so well. On one hand, it has genuine supercar-level performance from the 4.4 V8, with the response, noise and aggression you expect from a proper M car. On the other, it is still a large, comfortable, beautifully equipped saloon that can carry five people and luggage without any drama. Very few cars combine this level of performance and usability so convincingly.
The Competition model is the one we would personally recommend. It feels sharper, more focused and more serious than the standard M5, while still keeping the refinement that makes these so easy to live with. The M xDrive system gives huge traction and confidence, but the car still gives you the option to switch into a more rear-driven setup when you want the full M-car experience.
The specification is superb. It has Comfort Plus Package, Technology Plus Package, full black Merino leather, massage front seats, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, four-zone climate control, Bowers & Wilkins sound system, soft-close doors, head-up display, heated steering wheel, electric steering column, digital dash, reverse camera with 360-degree cameras, adaptive cruise control, driving assistance with lane support, adaptive headlights, suede headliner, extended leather across the dash and door cards, carbon roof, BMW valved exhaust, M Mode and the M1 and M2 configurable steering wheel buttons.
The cabin presents beautifully. The seats have that proper M-car feel, with a huge amount of adjustment to get the driving position exactly right, while the extended leather, suede headliner, carbon roof and Bowers & Wilkins system give the car the luxury side to match the performance. Donington Grey is also a superb colour on these, subtle enough to look classy, but strong enough to show the shape and stance properly.
The service history is exactly what we would want to see. It was supplied by BMW in September 2020, had its running-in service at 1,388 miles, BMW oil and pollen service in 2022, BMW brake fluid in 2024, BMW major service including spark plugs in November 2024, BMW brake fluid again in May 2026, and will now receive a fresh service from ourselves including oil, inspection, brake fluid, air filter, pollen filter and wipers.
