Taken in part exchange against one of our Defenders, this XC90 offers a great deal of practicality without compromising on comfort. The first thing that stands out is just how easy it is to get along with. The driving position is excellent, the controls are intuitive and the ride is comfortable, making it a very straightforward car to live with despite its size. With seven seats and plenty of space for passengers, it is particularly well suited to family life and longer journeys.

This example has had four owners from new, with the last owner keeping it for three years. It presents very well, with a clean, well-kept interior and an attractive black-on-black combination. The Charcoal Nappa leather gives the cabin a quality feel, while the memory front seats allow you to save your preferred driving position. The front seats are heated, adding another welcome touch of comfort.

The Momentum Pro specification includes several features that make a genuine difference to everyday driving. The head-up display projects key information into the driver's line of sight, while adaptive cruise control makes longer motorway journeys less tiring. A 360-degree surround-view camera and Park Assist help when manoeuvring, and the blind spot information system, cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping aid and collision-avoidance technology provide additional assistance on the road. Road sign recognition is also fitted.

The service record begins with Volvo main-dealer visits, including servicing in February 2020, March 2021 and June 2022. Subsequent servicing was carried out by independent garages and Tom Bradford Volvo, most recently in April 2026 at 63,699 miles. We have since completed an oil service, replaced the pollen filter and wipers, changed the brake fluid and carried out our own inspection.

It sits on Pirelli Scorpion Verde tyres all round, with the Volvo-specific VOL marking, and they present very well. The brakes are also in very good condition.

Power comes from Volvo's 2.0-litre T5 turbocharged petrol engine, producing 247 hp and driving all four wheels through an automatic gearbox. It provides ample performance for a vehicle of this size, while the comfortable ride, spacious seven-seat layout and intuitive controls make the XC90 a particularly appealing everyday SUV.
