One owner from new, just 18,257 miles and a genuinely understandable reason for changing cars. This is exactly the sort of example we like to find: a car that has been kept by the same people from new, maintained properly and now comes to us because their circumstances have changed.

The previous owners used it as their family car while their children were growing up. With the children now at university, they no longer needed something of this size and have moved into a smaller electric Volkswagen Golf. It is a simple, believable reason for changing, and one that makes this Discovery Sport particularly appealing to us.

There are little details that tell you a surprising amount about how a car has been treated. The previous owner's wife was the main driver and would regularly park at the far end of the car park when visiting the local shops, rather than squeezing into a space close to the entrance. It might sound insignificant, but it fits with the overall impression this car gives: someone who was happy to walk a little further to keep their car away from other people's doors.

The condition reflects that care. Both the exterior and interior present beautifully for the mileage, and it feels reassuringly tight on the road, with no knocks or unwanted noises. It is the sort of thing you notice when you get behind the wheel, rather than something that can be conveyed by photographs alone.

The service history is also pleasing. It was maintained by Land Rover main dealers through June 2024, with oil services and an inspection recorded during that period. In February 2026, a further service was carried out at 17,367 miles, including spark plugs and air and pollen filters. We have since carried out our own service and inspection, including oil, brake fluid and wipers.

Finished in Eiger Grey, it has a smart, understated appearance that suits the R-Dynamic styling particularly well. The black interior complements it nicely, while the heated steering wheel is a welcome feature for everyday use.

The P300e combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and plug-in hybrid system, offering the flexibility of electric driving for suitable shorter journeys alongside the reassurance of petrol power for longer trips. It is a particularly useful combination for somebody who wants to make more of their local journeys on electric power without committing to a fully electric vehicle.

It remains on proper tyres all round, and the discs and pads are in lovely condition.
