This is one of those cars that does an extraordinary amount well, but what made this particular example stand out to us was the ownership, condition and specification rather than simply the performance. It has had just two owners from new, with the first keeping it for around three years and the most recent owner from 2024. The previous owner was also a driving instructor, which perhaps goes some way to explaining the particularly measured way this car appears to have been used and maintained. It has also remained with BMW main dealers throughout its service life, including the all-important running-in service at 1,191 miles.

The Comfort Plus Package makes a real difference to the everyday experience. It adds ventilated and massage front seats, heated steering wheel, soft-close doors and the Ambient Air Package with integrated fragrance system. Combined with the Silverstone Full Merino leather and Dark Aluminium Carbon Structure trim, the cabin feels considerably more special than a more basic M5 interior.

Condition was one of the first things we noticed. The car presents very well overall and the way the consumables have worn supports the impression that it has had a relatively easy life. It is fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres all round, while the brakes remain in very good condition.

The wheels are another nice detail. The previous owner had them properly diamond cut rather than simply refinished in a single colour, which is exactly the sort of thing that shows where corners have not been cut.

The service history is equally strong. BMW main dealer maintenance includes a major service with spark plugs at 25,961 miles, followed by oil and brake fluid at 35,495 miles in October 2025. We have since completed another oil service, inspection, air filter, pollen filter and wipers at 40,343 miles.

On the road, this particular M5 feels tight, composed and exceptionally complete. It has the performance expected of a Competition model, but the more impressive part is how easy it is to use normally. The comfort, refinement and technology mean it never feels like a car that has to be driven hard to make sense.

For us, this example is about the combination: two owners from new, full BMW main dealer history, Comfort Plus Package, Silverstone Full Merino leather, proper Pirelli tyres and very good overall condition.
