If you know what this is, you will know exactly why we have put it online early.
The Cayman S Sport was produced in a limited run of just 700 cars worldwide, making it one of the rarest and most interesting versions of the 987 Cayman. This is not simply a Cayman S with a few options added afterwards. Porsche built the S Sport around a much more focused specification, taking inspiration from the GT cars of the period and giving it a character all of its own.
This one is particularly desirable because it retains the 6-speed manual gearbox, naturally aspirated 3.4-litre flat-six and the factory specification that makes the S Sport what it is.
It has PASM as standard, sitting 10mm lower than a standard Cayman, alongside the factory sports exhaust, 19-inch SportDesign wheels, black exterior detailing, black mirrors and side intakes. The Alcantara steering wheel, gear lever and handbrake add to the sense that this is something rather different from the normal Cayman.
Inside, it has the details that make the S Sport such a special car, including Sports Chrono Package Plus, Bose, heated seats, PCM, Porsche crests in the headrests and the model-specific detailing.
The history is reassuring too. It began life with Porsche main dealer servicing before moving to respected Porsche specialists, with major maintenance carried out by Yorkshire Classic Porsche and Purely9. Purely9 carried out another major service with spark plugs in 2024, followed by further maintenance in 2025.
And then there is the mileage. 39,966 miles from new on a car of this specification is exactly what you want to see.
It is being sold due to lack of use and, importantly, it presents superbly for its age. The condition is one of the first things that stood out to us when it arrived.
The Sport Exhaust, PASM, manual gearbox and 19-inch SportDesign wheels give this Cayman a completely different feel to an ordinary 987. It is lower, louder, more focused and considerably rarer.
If you know what a Cayman S Sport is, you will understand this immediately. If you don't, the full description and build sheet coming soon will explain exactly why this is such a special Porsche.
