CATERHAM SEVEN
Convertible 620 S 2.0 2dr (2019/19)
THIS IS SPECIAL - READ AD ...
Priddys Motor Company are delighted to present this 2019 Caterham Seven 620S, showing just 6,370 miles and finished in Ferrari Nero Daytona Black.
The story of this Caterham starts before it reached its most recent owner. We understand this car was originally specified by a Caterham employee, and that matters because it carries details a normal customer could not usually select in the same way. The gold Caterham lettering, normally only available in black or white, the 620R-style gauges with yellow needles, the Ferrari Nero Daytona paintwork, Subaru Gold grille, double carbon fibre stripe and gold pinstripes all point towards a Seven that was built with a level of thought and personality beyond the usual order sheet.
That is what makes this car feel so much more interesting than simply 'a fast Caterham'. It has the serious mechanical basis of the 620S, but the visual details give it a real identity. The black Apollo wheels, carbon indicator pods, carbon cam cover, carbon striping, clear LED lenses and Armourfend protection all work together beautifully. Nothing feels random. It has the look of a car specified by somebody who understood exactly how a Caterham should feel, look and present.
From there, it became the pride and joy of a local garage owner, who has owned the car since November 2021. That is precisely the sort of ownership you want with something this focused. A 620S is not a casual purchase or an everyday runabout; it is a car bought because you want the rawest, most direct driving experience possible. This one has clearly been kept as a cherished toy, maintained locally, used sparingly and enjoyed for what it is.
The 620S is a seriously intense piece of machinery. With Caterham's quoted 310bhp and a power-to-weight figure of around 508bhp per tonne, it is not just quick in a straight line; it delivers performance with almost no delay between thought and action. The throttle, steering, brakes and gearshift all feel immediate because there is so little between you and the road. Modern performance cars may be faster on paper, but very few can make the driver feel this involved.
The specification supports that completely. Heated carbon padded race seats, quick-release Momo steering wheel, lowered floors, battery master cut-off switch, track day roll bar, half hood and 13-inch black Apollo wheels all make sense on a car like this. They are not luxury extras in the conventional sense; they are the details that make the car more usable, more focused and more complete.
The important thing with a 620S is understanding what it is. This is not a sports car trying to be civilised in the usual way. It is a lightweight, supercharged Caterham with astonishing response and almost absurd performance for its size, but the S specification gives it just enough usability to make it something you can enjoy on the road rather than treat purely as a circuit tool.
The service record begins with Caterham main dealer preparation, followed by Caterham main dealer oil services in 2020 and 2021. Since then, it has been maintained by Deane Valley, with oil, brake fluid and spark plug work recorded. The mileage remains exceptionally low, which fits the way the car has been owned: not neglected, not overused, but kept as something special.
What makes this Seven special is the complete story. A Caterham employee-led specification, rare non-standard details, Ferrari Nero Daytona paint, gold accents, carbon touches, very low mileage and ownership by a local garage owner who kept it as his pride and joy. It is not simply a 620S; it is a properly individual one, and that is exactly what makes it worth paying attention to.
