I will admit this car surprised me. The i3 has always been known for being clever and practical, but the S version is genuinely enjoyable to drive. It feels much quicker than expected, responds instantly when you press the accelerator and has a light, agile character that makes everyday driving unusually entertaining. Around town, the excellent turning circle and compact dimensions make it exceptionally easy to place, park and manoeuvre.

It is equally impressive once the roads open up. The car remains stable and composed at higher speeds, with none of the nervousness you might expect from something so compact and upright. The ride is comfortable, the seating position gives excellent visibility and the instant electric response makes joining faster traffic completely effortless.
