The reason we bought this one was obvious as soon as we started looking around it properly. The level of care the previous owner has gone to is far beyond what we normally see. The central screens have protective film fitted, the kick plates and door-entry trims have also been protected, and even the key has been kept in a protective cover. Small details, but they tell you a lot about how someone has treated a car.

There are other signs everywhere. The electrically operated rear armrest, where the hinge is so often damaged on these, appears barely used. The interior generally presents far better than the mileage would suggest, to the point where you could easily believe the car had covered a fraction of its 46,773 miles.

Its history supports that impression. It has been serviced every year from new, exclusively through Land Rover main dealers until arriving with us, with maintenance recorded at 10,884, 24,087, 33,112, 35,670 and 39,301 miles. We have now serviced it again at 46,773 miles with oil, pollen filter, brake fluid and wipers.

The specification is exceptionally strong. Heated and cooled seating is fitted front and rear, with massage front seats, memory functions, heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control with lane assistance, 360-degree cameras, blind-spot assistance, tilt-and-slide panoramic roof, electrically deployable side steps, armrest cooler and remote pre-heating.

The interior combination is one of the best parts of the car. The light upholstery is broken up with darker brown leather sections and dark wood trim, giving the cabin a much warmer feel than the more common all-black interiors. Paired with Byron Blue outside, it is a particularly elegant combination.

On the road, it feels every bit as well cared for as it looks. The steering is tight, there is no looseness or play, and the overall drive is exceptionally composed. Even the brake condition gives the impression of a car that has had an easy life rather than one that has been driven aggressively.

There are very few examples where the condition tells the same story as clearly as the history does. Full annual Land Rover main dealer servicing, unusually careful ownership and a specification that leaves very little to want are what separate this particular Range Rover from the majority of others available.
