Normally, the two-litre F-Types do not appeal to me quite as much as the larger-engined cars. That is not because of the engine; it is because many were ordered with a noticeably lighter specification. This one is completely different. It is beautifully trimmed, packed with the equipment people actually want and even has the suede-wrapped headliner, a feature more commonly found on the highest-specification F-Types.

The specification caught our attention first, but the condition impressed us just as much. The quilted and perforated leather still feels remarkably fresh, the extended leather across the dashboard and door cards presents beautifully, and the cabin has avoided the tiredness often found in sports cars of this age. Even the perforated steering wheel changes the way the car feels from behind the wheel, while the First Edition plaques and dashboard script give it a clear identity of its own.

Heated and cooled seats, memory settings for both occupants, heated steering wheel, electrically adjustable steering column, Meridian sound, digital instruments, fixed panoramic glass roof, wired Apple CarPlay, keyless entry and start, power-folding mirrors and a reversing camera make this a particularly complete example. The suede headliner and Jaguar mats with contrasting white detailing finish the cabin properly.

On the road, the 296hp turbocharged engine is quick, responsive and gives the F-Type a lighter, agile feel at the front. The valved exhaust adds the character and theatre the shape deserves, while the compact coupe body, low seating position and direct controls make it genuinely enjoyable on the right road.

Eiger Grey suits the car beautifully, highlighting the bonnet lines and rear haunches without overpowering the design. The car is being sold through lack of use, something its mileage supports, and annual road tax is only £200.

Every recorded engine service has been completed by Jaguar main dealers. The most recent was carried out in April 2026 at 23,464 miles, while the previous visit included oil, brake fluid, pollen filter, air filter and spark plugs. We have since completed our own specialist inspection and replaced the wipers.

During our inspection, we also fitted an upgraded Swallows Jaguar Pipercross air filter as a preventative measure. On these engines, the factory filter can become vulnerable if moisture reaches it due to its relatively low mounting position, creating a risk of the filter material deteriorating and being drawn towards the turbocharger. It sits on premium Pirelli tyres at the front and Michelin tyres at the rear, with the discs and pads remaining in very good order.

This First Edition has changed my view of the two-litre F-Type. Its specification, fresh interior, low mileage and uninterrupted Jaguar main dealer engine servicing give it the sense of occasion many lower-specification examples are missing.
