This is not a standard RS3 — and it’s been put together by someone who clearly understood what they wanted from the car.

It was taken in part exchange against one of our Range Rover Sports from a returning customer and he used it as a weekend car rather than a daily.

The big difference with this one is how it drives. It’s running an MRC stage 1 engine and gearbox map, set up so that when you’re in Dynamic it really comes alive, but in Comfort it still settles down and behaves exactly as you’d want. It gives you both sides of the car depending on how you’re using it.

It’s also been fitted with KW coilovers, set to a sensible height. Slightly firmer than standard, but it suits the car — tighter, more planted, and just feels more connected overall. Combined with a full set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres, all recently fitted, the grip is exactly where it should be.

Sound-wise, it’s got everything going for it. The factory RS sports exhaust is there, backed up by the 5-cylinder engine that does all the talking anyway. It’s one of those cars that sounds right without needing to force it.

There are a few supporting upgrades as well — high flow filter, upgraded turbo inlet and intake pipe — nothing over the top, just sensible additions that work with the setup already on the car.

Factory specification is strong too, with around £4,000 of options when new including RS sports exhaust, Audi Magnetic Ride, Comfort and Sound package, and parking system plus.

Servicing has been carried out through a mix of specialists, with key items like Gearbox, Haldex and AWD coupling maintenance completed along the way. It has just been serviced and inspected by ourselves ready for the next owner.
