We’ll start where it deserves to start — the specification and the cabin.

Deep red extended leather, carried properly across the seats, dashboard and door cards. Not a token option, but a full, rich interior that completely changes the feel of the car. Against the metallic grey exterior it works beautifully — restrained on the outside, confident within. Carbon interior package, carbon centre console trim and a black Alcantara headliner give it the right amount of edge without tipping into excess. The 18-way Adaptive Sports Seats Plus with memory hold you perfectly and feel every bit the flagship option they were.

This car was specified with intent when new, carrying over £18,000 of factory options. Sport Chrono, sports exhaust, SportDesign front apron, 20-inch Carrera Classic wheels, BOSE surround sound, ParkAssist with reverse camera, panoramic slide and tilt roof, heated seats, cruise control, Power Steering Plus and more. It strikes the balance a Carrera S should — focused, but still refined and usable.

The 3.8-litre naturally aspirated flat-six produces 400hp, delivered through Porsche’s PDK transmission. In normal driving it is smooth and composed. Select Sport or Sport Plus and it tightens immediately — sharper shifts, firmer control and the sports exhaust opening to deliver that clean, mechanical tone only a naturally aspirated 911 produces. It feels engineered, not exaggerated.

The panoramic roof slides neatly back above the rear screen, preserving the 911 profile while bringing light into that deep red cabin. A small detail, but executed exactly as Porsche intended.
